Being Grateful

I feel sometime like I write about all the negative things, the things you need to fix and the things that are broken. So today I wanted to write about some positives.

Candles.jpgOne of the most amazing ways to get a buzz out of life is to think about all the things you can be grateful for, and it requires so little effort.  Just stop, quiet your mind, and think of one positive thing in your life.  For me I think of my children, my wife, and oddly enough my dog.  They all put a smile on my face and "warm and fuzzy" in my soul.

Got that warm and fuzzy feeling? Ok, now I want you to really take a minute to actually remember that feeling.  Did your body relax... did your mind relax... did you smile... did you close your eyes?  All of these physical things happened because of a positive mental image, something you were truly grateful for.

Now here's the best part.  If you can take that vibe that you just generated and achieve that peacefulness with your objectives in mind then the sky really is the limit.  It's always easy to visualise things we have, like family or friends, experiences, or "things". It's a little tougher to visualise what we don't have or haven't yet achieved.  But if you can get your body to react to your unachieved objectives in the same way that you did for what you do have already then nothing will stand in your way.

So think about your objective, visualise yourself having already achieved your goal, and work on that grateful feeling.  The secret is that the universe is not going to be too interested in helping you get there unless you are already grateful for it.  You read that right... you must be grateful for the things you haven't yet achieved, or the objectives you are aiming for.  Only then will the universe start delivering for you - or at least help you on your way.

Did you lose your warm and fuzzy feeling?  Don't worry - you've got a whole world of inspiration to be thankful for already, so try and try again.
