Forever
Friends
I specially dedicate this article to all of my true friends past,
present and future.
Winter, spring , summer, or fall,
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You've got a friend.
John Taylor
I have been counting my blessings since the attack of Uranus on my
zodiac sign of Pisces from 2003 (a most unpleasant astro transit! maybe
I will have a more positive view when its over, hmmm) but recently so,
over the last 6 months, I have been inclined to count my blessings even
more so, as the planet of butt kicking goes into 5th gear!
When we count our blessings it highlights and reminds us what is good in
our lives, or in the case of friends whom is good in our lives.
I sometimes wonder if people today, in this crazy place we call the
modern world have forgotten the gift that is a real friend and its
delightful side effect that is friendship. The glittery distractions of
modern living make us feel we don’t need anything other than money or
material possessions to make everything all right and to feel good. As a
society we have placed so much value on these illusionary aspects of
life, we no longer know what really has true value in our lives.
We so easily use the word friend to describe anybody we simply talk to,
are acquainted with or don’t really know very much about. Its a word we
flip around far too casually and often to people who are not verily
worthy of the title.
I am often guilty of this myself. I will call anybody I’ve met for five
minutes and simply had a pleasant conversation with a friend, but this
is because, to me they are. Everybody is my friend, until proven
otherwise. I am not the kind of person who has to put somebody through a
series of tests, know them for a long period of time or to have had
shared some special experience with for me to call them a friend. We can
all be friends and the whole world is bursting with a host of potential
friendships if we are open to them.
Nevertheless, amongst the sea of people I call my friends I know who are
REALLY my friends. I think even though we use the word friend
fortuitously, when the cookie crumbles not only do we know who are
friends really are, we SEE who are friends really are. It is at these
times that a true friend will step up to the plate and the fake friends
will dissipate and you wonder why you ever called them a friend in the
first place.
I take my friendships seriously. I don’t take them for granted and like
any good relationship, they need time, nurturing and unconditional love.
Sounds like a familiar list....? Just like the relationship you will
have with your significant other, your friendships deserve and need the
same kind of attention and commitment.
Here are some beautiful thoughts I stumbled across about what a
friendship means.
Friendship is made in the heart
Unwritten, unbreakable by distance
Unchangeable by time
Once a friend, always a friend
How do friendships grow?
Pick a good heart!
Plant a pot of trust
Water with good thoughts
Add some emotions and faith
Remove misunderstandings
And nourish with LOVE
I think the art of friendship is just that, an art. A piece of art is a
personal expression that comes from LOVE and is given to the world
unconditionally (well, until art dealers get their paws on it!).
Friendship is a living art.
Friendship is an art and a friend is a gift. If you are blessed enough
in life to have a real friend then you are richer beyond your wildest
dreams. No billionaire can buy a real friend. A real friend is
priceless!
I think we should have a special day for friends and friendships. I
don’t know, maybe there is a special day somewhere and I haven’t heard
of it yet, but a day on par with Mother’s Day and Father’s Day is
needed, lest we forget! Even if we did have a special day for friends,
you should count the blessings that are your friends EVERY DAY, along
with all of the other blessing in your life.
So, if you ever feel impoverish, look to the wealth that are your
friends. If you feel alone, look to the companionship of your friends.
If you feel misunderstood, look to the understanding of a friend. If you
feel sad, look to the humour from your friends. If you feel like a fool,
look to the compassion of your friends. If you feel lost, look to the
guidance from your friends and if you feel hurt or pain, look to the
LOVE from your friends....and a hug! ;0)
I am fortunate enough to have met some real and genuine friends on this
very website New Age Store! Hiya guys!!! (Jumping and waving with
excitement :0) ) and who said you can’t make real friends in cyber
space!
Next Christmas, when you are making your gift list for Santa. Ask for a
friend. It will be the best gift you ever receive!

I'll Be There for You by the Rembrandts - Friends Lyrics
So no one told you life was going to be this way.
Your job's a joke, you're broke, you're love life's DOA.
It's like you're always stuck in second gear,
Well, it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year.
But, I'll be there for you, when the rain starts to pour.
I'll be there for you, like I've been there before.
I'll be there for you, cause you're there for me too.
You're still in bed at ten, the work began at eight.
You've burned your breakfast, so far, things are going great.
Your mother warned you there'd be days like these,
But she didn't tell you when the world has brought you down to your
knees.
That, I'll be there for you, when the rain starts to pour.
I'll be there for you, like I've been there before.
I'll be there for you, cause you're there for me too.
No one could ever know me, no one could ever see me.
Seems like you're the only one who knows what it's like to be me.
Someone to face the day with, make it through all the rest with,
Someone I'll always laugh with, even at my worst, I'm best with you.
It's like you're always stuck in second gear,
Well, it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year.
But, I'll be there for you, when the rain starts to pour.
I'll be there for you, like I've been there before.
I'll be there for you, cause you're there for me too.
You`ve Got A Friend - John Taylor
When your down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, whoa nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest nights.
You just call out my name,
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running, oh yeah baby
To see you again.
Winter, spring , summer, or fall,
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You've got a friend.
If the sky above you
should turn dark and full of clouds
and that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud
And soon I will be knocking upon your door.
You just call out my name and you know where ever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Winter, Spring, summer or fall
All you got to do is call
And I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Hey, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend?
People can be so cold.
They'll hurt you and desert you.
Well they'll take your soul if you let them.
Oh yeah, but don't you let them.
You just call out my name and you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Oh babe, don't you know that,
Winter Spring summer or fall,
Hey now, all you've got to do is call.
Lord, I'll be there, yes I will.
You've got a friend.
You've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
You've got a friend.
