Astrology - An Introduction
Author: Alison Moroney
Whilst it is true that there are some circumstances within our lives which
are beyond our control, there are many choices in life which each person must
make, choices and results over which we do have control. There is no conflict
between fate and freewill as some would have us believe.
Astrology is a subject which captures the reflection of life's reality, in much
the same way as a camera captures images of light. The astrological chart is a
map of energy patterns, indicating those fateful conditions which cannot be
changed as well as the path we choose as individuals. The fact that a good
astrologer can predict situations in the lives of individuals does not indicate
that a lack of free will exists. It merely reflects the choices the individual
will make, something which can be done taking into consideration the environment
into which the person was born and their personality.
It is utter nonsense to believe that the stars totally control man's destiny.
The stars and heavenly bodies are part of our environment and affect us as would
any other part of our environment. The sun provides heat and light, the moon's
gravitational pull is linked to the tides, nature and physiological cycles. When
one considers that the gravitational forces operational in space can distort
time, light and space, then there must be some impact on our environmental
conditions here on earth. However, over our own destiny, astrology offers us
choices, guiding us through the sometimes stormy seas of life.
Some of the greatest scientific minds practised the science-art of Astrology. It
is inconceivable that such great minds could accept a subject based on
superstition. Their practice of this science-art speaks a thousand words. These
greats include: Sir Isaac Newton, Johann Kepler, Tycho Brahe, Galileo and
Copernicus. More Articles
